Triva Watts Sanders is currently the Section Chief of VHA Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling Programs for the Overton Brooks VA Medical Center. She graduated from Alcorn State University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science. She then attended Jackson State University and obtained a Master’s degree (1995) in Rehabilitation Services. As she moved around and advanced in her career, she obtained a certificate from the University of Missouri-Columbia in Rehabilitation Administration, Certification as a Rehabilitation Counselor from the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification, Certified Clinical Supervisor of Career Counseling from the National Career Development Credentialing Commission and International Certifications as a Job and Career Transition Coach and Job and Career Development Coach. She is a member of the National Rehabilitation Association, Louisiana Rehabilitation Association having served as the Regional Representative, National Career Development Association-serving as Chair of the Veterans Committee, National Association of Multicultural Concerns, Association of VA Vocational Rehabilitation Professionals serving in Member Recruitment, the Vicksburg Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, Order of Easter Star- King Hiram Grand Lodge, Purple Heart Auxiliary, the Vicksburg Warren Alcorn State University Alumni Chapter and she is a member of The Links, Incorporated, currently serving as Chaplin. Married to Demetris Sanders, they have one son and are members of Travelers Rest Baptist Church.
Mrs. Sanders brings 25 years of Counseling (mental health, substance use, housing, vocational rehabilitation), case management and independent living services in various areas having worked for the MS State Hospital, Charter Behavioral Health, Missouri Goodwill Industries, Goodwill Industries of Southeast Texas/Southwest Louisiana, Easter Seals, Boys and Girls Club of Fort Worth, Department of Assistive Rehabilitative Services (DARS) and currently has been serving Veterans for 17 years. Mrs. Sanders also holds a Lifetime Educator License from Midsouth Association of Independent Schools Department of Instruction under the Authority of Section 37-17-9 of the Mississippi Code of 1972.
Dr. General Bryant, JR Dr. Bryant is currently the Senior Pastor of Travelers Rest Baptist Church in Vicksburg, MS. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Theology from Bethany Bible College in 1996, a Masters in Divinity from Columbia International Overcoming Outreach Theological School of Religion in 1998 and a Doctorate in Religion and Philosophy in 2000. Dr. Bryant then obtained another Master’s degree in Social Work from Florida Agricultural Mechanical University (FAMU) in 2009 and a second Doctorate in Pastoral Counseling from Bethany Divinity College and Seminary in 2018.
Dr. Bryant brings a plethora of counseling experience of over 25 years having served in some capacity of ministry at 7 other churches. He also served in the United States Army 23 years and retiring as Military Chaplain, Owner and Proprietor of Right Direction Healthcare Service Agency in Tallahassee, FL and School of Harts and Right Direction Childcare Facilities in Tallahassee, FL, Instructor/Officer for Depart of Corrections Academy in Columbia, SC and Counselor for Inactive Ready Reserve (Army).
Dr. Bryant is a member of Bethlehem M.B. Church Association, Union Baptist Association serving as Vice Moderator, Progressive Baptist Convention, National Baptist Convention, and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
